MESH ADAPTION FOR COMPRESSIBLE FLOWSBernadette

چکیده
We describe here some recent developments in mesh adaption for compressible viscous inviscid ow simulation. One of the most challenging task is to capture eeciently thin layers such as boundary layers, mixing layers. Two important issues, the coupling between mesh and ow, and the use of at elements for stretching are considered in the case of deformation mesh systems.

DATA DEPENDENT MESH GENERATION FOR PIECEWISE LINEAR INTERPOLATION by Jonathan Aitken
In this dissertation we draw together several of the commonly used data dependent mesh adaption strategies for meshes consisting of triangular elements. Such triangulations are often of particular interest when considering the numerical solution of mathematical models. The strategies are based on three primary building blocks for mesh adaption. These being, nodal reconnection, nodal movement an...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Turbulent Subsonic Compressible Flow through Rectangular Microchannel
In this study, turbulent compressible gas flow in a rectangular micro-channel is numerically investigated. The gas flow assumed to be in the subsonic regime up to Mach number about 0.7. Five low and high Reynolds number RANS turbulence models are used for modeling the turbulent flow. Two types of mesh are generated depending on the employed turbulence model. The computations are performed for R...
متن کاملMesh Gradation Control
This paper gives a procedure to control the size variation in a mesh adaption scheme where the size speci cation (the so-called control space) is used to govern the mesh generation stage. The method consists in replacing the initial control space by a reduced one by means of size or metric. It allows to improve, a priori, the quality of the adapted mesh and to speed up the adaption procedure. S...
متن کاملParallel Implementation of an Adaptive Scheme for 3D Unstructured Grids on the SP2
Dynamic mesh adaption on unstructured grids is a powerful tool for computing unsteady flows that require local grid modifications to efficiently resolve solution features. For this work, we consider an edge-based adaption scheme that has shown good single-processor performance on the C90. We report on our experience parallelizing this code for the SP2. Results show a 47.0X speedup on 64 process...
متن کاملGlobal Load Balancing with Parallel
Dynamic mesh adaption on unstructured grids is a powerful tool for eeciently computing unsteady problems to resolve solution features of interest. Unfortunately, this causes load imbalance among processors on a parallel machine. This paper describes the parallel implementation of a tetrahedral mesh adaption scheme and a new global load balancing method. A heuristic remapping algorithm is presen...
